How much does it cost to commission a mural?

The cost of a wall mural is calculated by its size, complexity and travel costs to the location. A quote can be given per square foot or job. It is possible to align your available budget with the size and complexity of a mural. For further details please complete the Mural Quotation Form to receive a cost estimate for your next mural project.

Can I have a mural on a low budget?

Yes, you can. If you have a low budget, you can minimise the cost by finding a local artist and choosing a simple design smaller than 2 meters square. If you’re not sure if you have enough budget, please get in contact anyway and we can discuss the options specific to your situation.

What kind of surfaces can you paint on?

I can paint a mural on almost any surface by using the correct painting technique. However, the surface must be sound, reliable and free from mould and leaching. In addition, the environment is equally as important, for example, painting a mural in a very humid area may affect its longevity.

How long does a mural last?

A mural should be for a lifetime… I have clients that have my work in perfect condition after more than 15 years. If the wall is sound and free from mould or leaching, then there is no reason why it can’t last for 10 years or more.

However, the mural environment is also an important factor. If you have children or pets that constantly touch the wall which then needs to be wiped frequently, this may lead to slight discolouration.

What type of paints do you use?

I use water-based professional acrylic paints that are non-toxic, odourless and dry in a few minutes. It is important to me to minimise the impact on the planet and to be as sustainable as possible.

How long after you have finished painting can I use the space?

The water-based professional acrylic paints I use will dry in a few minutes, but we recommend allowing at least 30 minutes after painting before the space is ready to use.
